Alistair Warwick playing continuo with The University Players (University of Surrey)

Continuo

As a teenager, Alistair was encouraged at the Bexley Music School to play the harpsichord (they had built one from a kit) in the Baroque Orchestra.

At the University of Surrey he directed small-scale orchestral pieces from the harpsichord, as well as accompanying soloists.

Works performed range from pieces by JS Bach (Double Violin Concerto, Orchestral Suite no 3 and the St John Passion), Boyce, Händel (Messiah, Concerto Grosso Op 6 No 12), Monteverdi, Schütz & Telemann (Trumpet Concerto in D).

He is currently studying figured bass and repertoire with Philip Sawyer in Edinburgh.
